On a rainy night in Little Egypt, Jeep Mabry shows up on Slim’s doorstep with an old mining colleague to interrupt Slim and Anci’s Scrabble game, bringing more trouble than just misspelled words. Snake Dornan, a nickname he earned with particularly slippery schemes, bought up a few nearby houses in foreclosure, and rented one to Lizzie and Tony Meeks, by appearances a nice, young married couple. However, when he visits the house, the windows are broken, the yard is full of bikes and bikers, and there’s a telling smell of rotten eggs in the air. In order to evict them from his house, Snake needs Slim and Jeep’s help. All they need to do is deliver a letter of intent and a copy of the original lease to a group of heavily armed, meth running bikers. Should be easy, right?
This Slim in Little Egypt short story bridges the gap between Down Don’t Bother Me and Red Dog, and also includes an excerpt from Red Dog.

I haven't read any other books by this author but I got this kindle book free so I gave it a chance. The story was okay although very far fetched, with some elements from the movie Twister thrown in. There was very little character development. I had no idea who Peggy was; she just appeared a couple times. I thought a lot of the dialogue was cheesy. Snake's character was too unbelievable to me. It went into descriptions of all kinds of things he'd done to make money and he didn't seem smart enough for any of it. The author talks about a derecho but he says it "passed as quickly as it'd arisen" yet the definition of a derecho is a "long-lived wind storm". I'd also like to know why people think that just because someone lives in the country they don't know proper English? It was a quick read since it was so short, but I doubt I'd read any more by this author.Product details

Love, love, love this! Slim and Anci are so much fun. Received Jason Miller's 2nd book Red Dog for Christmas. Which is excellent. Then found this on and read it. Also ordered his 1st book Down Don't Bother Me will be here tomorrow!I
This is free, or is right now. So have fun it only takes an hour to read.
Not as good as Miller's first book, but still very good, none the lest.

Well written, great sense of humor, action, and the best dialog! Perfect short to fill the gap between JM's "Down Don't Bother Me" and "Red Dog".
Here is a clever short story, written intelligibly, yet a little over-the-top when it comes to the tornado scene and the derecho that passed quickly (they don’t, in fact). But then, this is a fantasy fiction story, right? Nevertheless, there are those who will enjoy this work very much.
