8 Weeks Time for Love Book 1 eBook Bethany Lopez
This is the story of a broken marriage. Cal got drunk in Vegas and cheated on his wife, Shelly. It's understandable that Shelly would want a divorce, after all the guy did betray her trust. However, Cal refuses to give up, so he's asking her for 8 weeks of Saturday-night dates (so, basically, 8 dates) to prove he'll do anything to gain her trust and prove his love for her. Personally, I wouldn't have agreed to this, but it was the only way Shelly would get her divorce.Apparently, these two had an intense and "undying" love. You could tell by how whiny the two get about the fall of their relationship. Story mostly revolves around the rebuilding of a relationship, which I thought moved kinda slow. Cal is so desperate to get his wife back that it almost gets annoying, turning off the reader. Mainly this was about two people missing each other and wanting what they had back.
This is an okay story of reuniting.

8 Weeks Time for Love Book 1 eBook Bethany Lopez Reviews
Really? There is no way on earth I would forgive my husband for having unprotected sex with some slut he didn’t even know , let alone forgive him in 8 weeks time. Cal the cheating husband, wakes up naked with some blonde chic who obviously does this slot since she was like “Have a nice life sugar” as she walked out the door. He claims he so sorry and can’t remember it cause he was drunk. His friends were out partying while he went back to the hotel. Obviously he wasn’t too drunk if he was able to invite some skank into his room for a night of unprotected sex. His junk still worked. He couldn’t be that drunk. His wife leaves and he asks for 8 Saturdays to prove how sorry he is. His wife should have said heck no and divorced his cheating self and moved on. The writer acts like cheating is ok if you don’t remember it. She obviously doesn’t even give a crap about unprotected sex. The characters were all whining idiots. 1 Star book.
I fully appreciate the gravity of what the author was trying to put forth in this book. Infidelity in a marriage (possibly) because the husband doesn't remember because he's that blasted. All he remembers in the naked woman the next morning. Returning home he tells his wife (on their 6th anniversary) because he can't lie to her. Ok. That said, those first few pages needed to be ground out a little more. For a young guy to come home and confess a possible infidelity to his wife of 6 years and not even try to digest what had happened, did not work for me. Her reaction was reasonable, she tosses things in a bag and heads to her Dad's. Two days later she decided she wants a divorce? I am absolutely not a forgiver of infidelity ever, however the story here could have been written a little smoother. This reads so much even below a YA book. I think Bethany had a great plot and the supporting characters were good, but this was a little rough around the edges.
I'd still say read it if you want. Just know that things are not always as they seem in real life and real life sure as hell isn't like a book.
Very Contemporary/NA approach of a young married couple where the H wakes up naked with a naked woman in his room. He probably had sex but can't remember. He's horrified, but not quite as horrified as his high school sweetheart now wife. She leaves for dad's house immediately.
The rest of the story is his hardcore press to get her back within an 8 week window.
Yeah, it was sweet, and the couple are surrounded by a strong group of friends from high school with their own issues. It had a very clean-cut, latte drinking, Friends-ish vibe to it.
Sadly the most interesting character to me was Melody, the high school tramp, who is desperate to be a part of the gang. Good enough to sleep with but not good enough to hang out. Sad.
If this were my husband, it would take more than 8 weeks to just move on. In one night he undermined 8 years of being together and she needs to get over it in 8 weeks or less. This story was disappointing. He thinks he had sex but is not sure. Dude, did you find a used condom? If not, maybe you need to wait more than 8 weeks to make sure all you have to do is whine and apologize. After 8 years of being with your soul mate, you should have enough going for you to NOT get stupid drunk like some 18 year old frat boy . Then you will remember your comings and going.
Why make it seem like cheating is ok because he didn't plan to cheat? Why not write about a strong woman who wasn't going to settle for a man that didn't care enough about her to keep it in his pants? Why does a happy ending have to be them ending up together again. Why can't the happy ending be her leaving her cheating man and moving on with her life?
